Plan, organize, direct, control, coordinate, and evaluate the delivery of behavioral health services

  • Develop long and short-term goals for the behavioral health agency and participates in the agency’s strategic and operational planning.
  • Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines staff.
  • Maintains awareness of advances in behavioral health, to include evidenced based and best practices.
  • Manages human resources and directs administrative activities for behavioral health care employees.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of services and programs.
  • Oversees the planning, development, scheduling, and implementation of behavioral health care programs and activities.
  • Participates in the development and administration of budgets.
  • Plans and organizes program structure and policies to meet organizational and programmatic objectives.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the work of the unit(s) to provide continuous active treatment to the consumers served.
  • Set priorities and implements goals and objectives to meet or resolve identified behavioral health problems.
  • Evaluates employees at scheduled intervals, obtains and considers all relevant information in evaluations
      and supports staff by giving praise and constructive criticism.

  • Motivates, coaches and mentors staff to improve quantity and quality of work performed and provides
      training and development opportunities as appropriate.

  • Performs work according to all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines of the agency.
  • Attends seminars, conferences and job related trainings.
  •  Follows agency policy and departmental protocol regarding work schedule, calling in when arriving late or when absent, break and lunch periods and observing provisions of Fair Labor Standards Act.
  • Submits leave requests in advance (according to departmental protocol) for annual leave, personal leave, and foreseen sick leave. Submits leave requests for unforeseen or emergency sick or personal leave immediately upon return to work. Provides documentation for use of leave as required.
  • Presents a neat and clean appearance. Wears clothing suitable to job and environment based on clientele served.
  • Observes agency policies on health, safety, security and sanitation; notifies supervisor of circumstances or situations that present health hazards.
  • Does not use or knowingly permit others to use agency property for personal business.

  • Master's degree with a Georgia behavioral health license (LPC / LCSW / LMFT) and two years of supervisory experience in a behavioral health environment.
