Status:                    Full-Time Monday - Friday 40 hours weekly

Job Summary: Under general supervision acts as lead worker and/or supervisor for staff engaged in providing basic instructions in basic living skills, simple academics, and/or work skills to individuals who are developmentally disabled. Provides individual and group instructions, reviews lesson plans and activity schedules. May develop and implement community job placements for individuals.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
•Instructs and advises individuals on daily living skills in one-on-one or group instruction (budgeting and financial responsibility, laundering techniques, grooming, hygiene, job training skills, and safety drills).
•Observes and monitors individual’s behavior. Counsel and advises individual on behavioral problems, daily decision making, and the resolution of minor problems.
•Supervises work activity.
•Conduct consumer time studies.
•Prepares and maintains all required documentation for area of assignment.
•Conduct vehicle inspections and maintenance according to applicable policies, procedures and guidelines.
•Instructs individuals in safe and correct production techniques and adherence to established work standards and regulations.
•Accurately documents services provided/extended, progress notes, activities, crafts, ISP goals, behaviors, meetings and keeping families/caregivers informed of achievements and concerns.
•Attend seminars, conferences, and job related trainings.
•Provides transportation to individuals.
•Monitors worksites of work activity crews.
•Monitors and orders supplies.
•Secures and maintains work contracts.
•Responsible for vehicle maintenance and procedures.

Required Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED with One year of experience providing social or direct care services to groups of special needs individuals in a human services setting OR Associate degree in a related field OR One year experience at the lower level position. Must possess a valid GA driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal history, MVR and drug test.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
