Gateway Community Service Board charges based on a sliding fee scale in accordance with Georgia's Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Policy. The fee scale is based on family income and ability to pay. No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. Individuals whose adjusted income is at 100% or below the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG) for their family size are determined not to have an ability to pay for services and therefore are not required to pay a fee.
Individuals whose adjusted income is at 101% to 200% of the FPG will be assessed a reduced fee according to the schedule.

Q. Is Gateway a private agency?
A. No. Gateway is a public agency created by state law to provide mental health, developmental disabilities and substance use disorders.
Q. Will there be a fee for the services I receive?
A. Gateway Community Service Board’s sliding fee scale is set by DBHDD for use statewide that determines the percentage of the full charge for a service that an individual will be charged based on their adjusted income and family. If an individual has been determined to not have the ability to pay for service, their services are covered fully by DBHDD funds (see DBHDD Policy 01-107).
The poverty income level is determined using Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines for the 48 Contiguous States and the District of Columbia for any individual whose adjusted monthly income is at or below 200 percent of the poverty level for their family size in accordance with Behavioral Health Sliding Fee Scale for Community Based Services. However, the assessment of any fee is not intended to create a barrier to care.
Q. When is my payment due?
A. Payment is due at time of service.
Q. The court ordered me to receive services. Will the court pay for my care?
A. Under most circumstances, you are required to pay for services ordered by the court. If you have questions, please contact the court.

1. You may obtain your medications from any pharmacy.
2. There is an on-site pharmacy at the Glynn County and Chatham County Outpatient Clinics.
3. Our other Outpatient clinics have short-turnaround times on medication delivery.
4. Gateway pharmacies file most insurances with required insurance copays. For those who are uninsured, copays are $8 per prescription.
5. Gateway offers a patient assistance program for (MH, SUD and primary care medications). This means your medications may be covered by Gateway.
